ORIENTAL STYLE STUDIO POTTERY FOOTED BOWL SIGNED MAHRANA MAHARAVA WED 1 NO

This is an unusual almost oriental style square footed bowl with an unusual square seal like pattern to each side and a textured seal like pattern to the inside. It is incised to the base but hard to read - looks something like MAHARANA or MAHARAVA and then WED 1 NO or NA - can anyone help me with identifying the potter or even the origin perhaps of this piece.

Looks like a bonsai pot. WED might mean it's a student or hobby potter. They tend to put the firing day on their pots. Looks like it's dated 1970
