Re: Crown Ducal - Charlotte Rhead designs
Had a quick look in my Bumpus book, but can't spot it. Nearest thing is the Caliph pattern, but there are some small differences from that.
Could you give us details of markings on the base; there may be a pattern number.

Charlotte Rhead Vase, pattern name please
I picked this vase up in a local charity shop. I have searched all over for Rhead items with this pattern but have drawn a blank. Does anyone know the name of this pattern of tube lined decoration? It has letter "F" alternating blue and purple all the way round and flowers alternately spaced, 3 around the top and 3 around the middle. It is in very good condition. A real prize for £3.00!

It's called Persian Rose, Pattern #4040, but there are many variations
with several different numbers, and called Tudor Rose.

Thanks for that DD. It's only the second piece of Charlotte Rhead I've found. Nice to have a pattern name for it. Roughly what year do you reckon? mid 1930s??

Introduced c1935 and revived in 1951, but yours is a 1930s mark.

Thanks for the name. I'm always amazed at the knowledge on this forum. Did Dora Jones do all the work on the piece? Or only the tube lining?? Which bit is Charlotte Rhead, if any???

Oops. I didn’t buy it. It had some missing glaze in the flowers. Maybe it’ll still be there when I go back
