Hi Dear all

Nicely decorated small vase. Bulbous with flared mouth. Suffered a little from firing onwards but charming nonetheless. Would appreciate any thoughts on possible age and maker. 

4” in height

Reminds me of the style of the Torquay potteries, of which there were quite a few. They all mostly specialised in tourist giftware. Try Googling Royal Torquay pottery images in particular.

The palette is more like the neighbouring and similar Crown Dorset.

Cheers Denby. Appreciate your pointers. Had a more thorough squint at the base. There appears to be a number written there. Mainly illegible but appears to end with /12. Does this possibly imply that it dates from 1912?

No, I don't think so. Although it would help if there was a motto in another language Laughter But even the Japanese copies still had the motto in English
