Certainly Asian. Best guess is Japanese Mashiko ware, although the decoration looks like it’s borrowed from oribe are

Appears to be Japanese. Without a handle, it looks like a soy sauce server or sake server rather than a teapot. Here is a similar one on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/224494194616

That’s really helpful Seamus and as much as I’d like it to be hand made I think it must be a factory piece, then hand painted.
