A lovely possibly Art Deco Shape Yellow painted pottery Vase???
This piece i think is in the deco taste and reminds me a lot of the work of the the designer
Keith Murray i collect his glassware. However i think this piece is hand thrown as it has
the circular lines to the base and a number i think the color has been applied after throwing.
Would love any thoughts about it i am thinking it is from the UK . Thanks for looking.
measures 5 3/4" tall. Quite a sturdy heavy piece not to sure what made of?

The way that base is turned is typical of Langley Mill pottery in the 1930s, as are the
incised numbers, which would be the glaze code.
Having said all that, I have never seen one like it, nor is there anything in the book.
It could just be a trial piece.

I understand some Murray were turned on a lathe after being molded

Thank you for your kind comment "Tenpot" i can also add a comment from Will Farmer from antiques roadshow who
adds that he has a sneaking suspicion that it maybe a copy made at Sylvac in the 50's as they were known to
have made copies of some of the Wedgwood pieces from the time, He goes on to say he could not be sure of
that until he would be able to handle the item.
