Re: Alleged counterfeit Troika
The seller however is chancing their arm here , they know fine well that it's not troika and are playing on the fact that some folks just plain don't know , hoping some poor sod will bid on it , I agree with Pip , it is a pathetic lump of clay .

Counterfit Troika on Ebay
I bought a vase from Ebay with 'Troika' and 'LH' Initials to the base. It was listed just as 'stoneware vase'. The vase looks a dead ringer for a Louis Hudson cylinder vase. Both ealy 70's artists but different potteries, unless they worked together at some point and I have a 'holy grail'!? I doubt this but does anybody know better?

Re: Alleged counterfeit Troika
there is a shop in St Ives selling the new Troika , but to fair he is very open and up front about it , made at fosters and with the troika name having been bought perfectly legal , the pieces are not cheap though and they are also larger versions of the originals .

I hate to keep doing this but they have not purchased the name at all. Have you seen the pieces? They are hideous and not at all close to Troika, they look like they have been made by someone who doesn't quite get it. But then, if you put a masterful artist like Leslie Illsley next to a normal guy who is trying to make some money the difference will be easy to see.

Re: Alleged counterfeit Troika
I think that you are correct Troikaloid in that Troika Cornwall Ltd, who were incorporated in 2007 and produce the Troika Cornwall pots that have been sold from The Pisky Shop in St. Ives, have not purchased the name.
I say that because the trademark "Troika" for use with Section 21 items, which includes ceramics, was registered by Judith Illsley from 20th January 2012
