La fiore (Spain)
Hi,
I was wondering if someone could help me on this piece please, it is by far the most ugliest piece of glass I have found so far, I was practically given it.
Its handblown, as it has all the normal indicators. Its a bright blue but has a covering of ash/sand and is quite rough so this makes it duller. The areas where the glass has been blown is smother so its been coated in something at the beginning of the process. Its quite light, and the twist is really well done on the neck yet it has a messy pontil and the spout is really quite lopsided.
The handle is small compared to the body of the jug and it continues to be piped/twisted around the neck.
There are no markings
The more I look the more it keeps coming back to Vintage Italian Seguso Vetri d'Arte Blue 'Scavo' Murano Glass Vase. but as I've never seen a piece I can't comment to see if a fake version.
Any help guys would be appreciated
Thank you Emma TWB

Re: La fiore (Spain)
It is scavo, which is the texture to the outside. Could well be Murano as I believe these pieces wouldn't have a polished pontil and wouldn't necessarily have a signature. There are Murano groups on Facebook that would be able to give a more definitive answer. I might not say it's really ugly on there though
