Ro pottery was run by Robert (Bob) and Gill Overton at Appley Bridge, West Lancs, in the 60s-70s. They then moved to Standish, Wigan, in the 70s

Hello Naomi,
Thank you for your reply, I am familiar with this pottery and the makers, however what puzzles me is the mark. Normally it reads Ro Pottery Standish or Ro Pottery Appley bridge, but this does not. it only reads Ro Pottery, I am wondering if it was made earlier than the others .
Regards
Sue

The decorative process looks very much like Mocha Ware.

There's no accounting for potters I suspect it was an interim stamp used when they moved, before they had the Standish one made.
