Can you identify this signature ‘A Lobi’ and asterisk mark? Empty Can you identify this signature ‘A Lobi’ and asterisk mark?

Hello folks,
Obtained this fine stoneware box at a charity shop in Charente France.

I do not understand the lettering. Is it Alosi or A. Losi ... is it an s? It looks European - even British but with a signature like that perhaps it is french.

Also, I have seen that asterisk sign somewhere before ... but where!?
