This pot has an art pottery feel to it, from the late 19th to early 20th. There is really tiny raised writing on the base - could be Shanklin in scrawly handwriting? I'd be grateful to know more about this. Thanks.

Can't make it out on the pictures, but might it read Salopian?
Their marks were often small and hard to read.
