Not a lot of info on Bursley ware made by H J Wood (Ltd), apart from the ranges
designed by Charlotte Rhead.
This is probably 1920s and the pattern number looks like 2039.

That's gorgeous.
I wonder if it's a rare design, having not seen it before.
It looks like it could have been made yesterday, and would sit nicely with some of my more modern studio pots lol.
Good piece.

Thank you research continues the design reminds me of North America Indian inspired. The glaze is amazing I didn’t actually know what it was made of until I picked it up very Metallic and so different. I’m holding on to this piece.

There was a fascination with " Grey Owl" in 1920s/30s. and also the well-known growth
in handmade pottery and craft goods. It would be interesting to see if there are other North American or Canadian ethnic-art influenced pieces anywhere, unrecognised.

Very interesting thank you it’s a totally random design compared to any thing else of that time I can’t find out any other artists of note apart from the Rheads but the brother did spend his ceramic career in the US maybe some connection.
