Re: Help with identifying pottery lampbase -
It might be by Richard Fisher in Lakeland. He was a woodcarver who cast some of his work as ceramic and plaster plaques etc. Helps to have a photo of the base to check clay and construction technique

Re: Help with identifying pottery lampbase -
It could be plaster, so Richard Fisher is more likely

It’s not Richard Fisher…..Richard Fisher worked at the Keswick school of industrial art (my specialist field) before starting his carving career among other things….his cast pieces are in a resin type material and are always marked and copyrighted….I was actually speaking to his son today in my shop….

Thank you for ruling Richard Fisher out from my search - do you have any ideas who it may be ?

Re: Help with identifying pottery lampbase -
We get quite lot of Quantock pottery being down Somerset way and to me its not quite the right golden colour it looks to pale. Also I am thinking a lot of Quantock pottery has applied designs where as this appears to be more carved in relief, perhaps.

Simonsbath Pottery also a possibility. They used some Quantock moulds as well as their own
