Black vase with sgraffito, base marked with an 82 within a symbol 8bc5ce10This piece is 9” tall and 5” wide, 20oz.  Do you think the 82 stands for the year, the style, or the piece number? Maybe the piece is new?

Hello!

This vase has a matte black glaze with what looks like specks of iron. Either porcelain or white stoneware. It is 8 3/4 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches at its widest point. Is 82 the year, or vessel number…who knows. I have only a book of British pottery symbols, and I didn’t find that symbol w/a number anywhere. Any help would be great. Thank you!

I think it’s European but I’m not finding the mark at the moment.
