Can't help thinking the mark is a bit angular for Caiger-Smith

It compares quite well to others in this thread, the ticks on the A are characteristic.
Also most items that have a date cypher, seem to be by ACS.

I think posters on this thread have just assumed it's Caiger-Smith's mark. It's not one of the examples in the Marks book

The ACS mark does change over time but it stands out as completely different than all the others. It's nearly always painted very carefully and has many more brush strokes and flicks. That table of marks does not do it justice.

FIVE ACS goblets

There are the extra tall ones - the brown one is 200mm for people who drink a LOT of wine :) (other two 180mm posted before)

That last photo - of the x3 I'm pleased with that. 200mm is a big goblet - I've seen those Rye ones but these ones are unusual IMO , all early date mark

Laurence McGowan used an N date mark for 1989 according to the table Shrugs But that was a date mark and he left in 79 so does not seem right.

No, there doesn't seem to be an N on the list. The A is Aldermaston. Nick Caiger-Smith uses an N, maybe an early one of his?

Yes, the design is called an Owl because it looks like an owl's head and body

Positive, Denby. It's one of their standard wares, everyone was expected to chip in and make them. The bases changed over time.

Standard small mug, they sell well on ebay. I think people like to mix and match. Aldermaston not in doubt seen loads have a few.

Looks right to me, I think you are showing the mark upside down, the majority of marks include the letter 'A'

Mary O'Gorman looks the most likely candidate.

It may be a different version of Louise Bashall's mark.

There are a few little signs that it is made less proficiently that I would expect from Aldrmaston. Flaws, bubbles in the glaze and decoration, foot glazing line, front rim lines etc I would expect them all to be a little crisper if it were someone who had made 1000 of these?

A for Aldermaston, so K for the potter

I have a piece of confirmed Aldermaston here and there are flaws in the glaze - not as many as this piece but they are there. The foot glazing line is consistent with the confirmed one also.
