I recently purchased this unusual jug. I don't know anything of its history and can't find anything similar on the internet.

With the stopper, it's about 34 cms tall and 18cm wide.

The neck, handle and stopper are glazed. The body (apart from the floral decoration which seems incogruous with the rest of the jug) is not. There are no marks on the underside. The stopper is double-headed; I'm not sure if it's a male or female figure.

Interestingly, there is something inside it that I can't get out. Careful inspection reveals a scrap of newspaper which appears to be selling a BSA bike for 63 shillings!

Unusual jug. Looks late 19th-early 20thC. From the style of the face on the stopper I’d guess German/Austrian but might be English. A photo of the base would help even if there are no marks.
