"I’ve worked with ceramics since training as a teacher in art and design in the late 1980s, quickly discovering my passion for handcoiling and natural low-fired decoration. I learnt smoke firing with Jane Perryman, developing my own technique and exhibiting nationally...
I exhibited for many years under my maiden name, Jane Day, whilst developing my ceramics career first as technician and then 15 years as subject leader for ceramics at Bath College teaching all ability levels. JD remains my signature mark.
I left lecturing in 2009 to establish Mud Hut Company, an artisan tile company...
