Peter Hayes studio vase?
I’ve not handled his work before - this looks right, signature and pottery type?
It looks a bit like porcelain, is that right? Late 20th C ?
Thank you

I do not think so. Just looked at one of my pieces and the signature here does not look like the one he uses. Equally his work is very much sculptural in nature and not sort of plastered together strips like this looks.. There was some of his very early work from Africa was at auction some years ago. But from memory it looked nothing like this.
The signature does not look is any way free flowing, which each letter being inscribed in rather a child like manner. I think this is probably a student piece.

I think it must be his; no one is going to copy his work and it's unlikely there's another potter called Peter Hayes out there. The signature might be a bit off because of the available space. It has the same angular 'e's as his other signature; just a bit squashed

Added some photos of his work from Compton Verney to his thread and the second one down looks very like your pot

Thanks Philpot & Naomi. I’ll try getting in touch. I think I like his sculptures. I’m not used to really organic pots like stones, but it’s probably much more collectable than lots of my brown pots.
