It looks more like Torquay type giftware of some sort.

If I'm correct all Torquay wares are fully glazed on the base, I will post on the Torquay & Devon Potteries FB page and see what comes up. I do agree it looks similar to TP, cheers.

There were many different 'Torquay' potteries set over a substantial time period. Its a generic name. That red coloured earthenware is typical of Devon clays. It is iron rich, and that is what gives it the typical reddish colour. Equally the BOGNOR REGIS is atypical of tourist knick knack souvenirs.

Could be from Scores pottery, Gillian Jones Exeter?philpot wrote:There were many different 'Torquay' potteries set over a substantial time period. Its a generic name. Re: Small Pottery Slipware Vase
Tourist motto ware was produced in very large quantities. Its selling factor that it was just dirt cheap. I don't think that a studio potter or the like would have made this, as there would have been no money in it for them.
The Gillian Jones pieces are a lot more complicated and more expensive looking.

Re: Small Pottery Slipware Vase
It looks quite old, Maybe Dicker ware, as they used this terracotta clay, and Bognor
is in the same county.
