Middle Eastern blue flower water pot - Iznik Pottery Turkey
Middle Eastern blue flower water pot, handled vase 10” long
Very much out of my experience apart from in museums.
First of all, what is it ? as you can’t pour from it, no hole in spout.
Vase? Decorative.
It’s been repaired badly in past and handle should be upright, not leaning.
It must have some age but how can you tell?
And where’s it from ?
Bought together with a similar style small pedestal bowl and cover. Similar colours of glaze but clay body looks different colour.

Iznik Pottery Turkey. Cheap portable Incense burner made for thev western tourist market? Its resemblance to a teapot makes me think of that,

Thanks Philpot, I did think it was missing a lid to start with and then I realised it wasn’t a proper spout. Really hard for me to know about dates as you can produce as much wear in 30 hard years as 300 gentler years. I’m sure glaze and form would tell someone who really knows Iznik pottery.n
