Studio Pottery Lamp Base - Is It William Marshall?

I have here a studio pottery lamp base.

I think the mark is William Marshall - can anyone confirm?

I do not think so. His signature mark is always quite small.indeed it is often difficult to see even when you know it is there. the Bill Marshall mark is also a good deal flatter than this. I have just checked a couple of pieces I have!
He did not make Lamp bases. The decoration on this piece is also just too dull, and it looks like salt glaze. He never used salt glaze.

Looks like a 70s piece. I don’t think it’s his mark but I don’t know whose it is.

I had a couple of cups with this mark a while ago and they remain a mystery to this day!
