Strange sack pot/lamp ?? Empty Strange sack pot/lamp ??

Anyone know anything about this pot?
It's very big - 29cm tall, 25 x 20 wide .
The hole near the bottom was made before it was glazed, not an addition so I'm guessing it might be a lamp base.
I'm assuming it has something missing off the top too, like a lid of some sort.
Any ideas?

Is it missing a lid/lamp holder as there seems to be a gallery around the rim.
