I picked up this rim damaged piece today with blurry morning eyes. If it hadn't been for the painted mark I probably would have left it behind however when I got home and found my glasses and well...... hmm there is someone locally paint marking modern import pieces and I do wonder if it is not one of theirs?

The glaze makes me feel / lean towards a modern piece though it is similar to those large brown salt cellars about.

Thoughts welcomed

I’m only able to see small pics on my phone but it doesn’t look modern to me.

Cheers Ben I appreciate your eye even if it was only with smaller images. The trouble is you get 1 posted reply and people can stop looking at the post

How big is it? I would tend to agree with Ben though. The style and glazing looks rather old fashioned. Equally too perfectly formed to be studio made. It would simply not have been made by a Studio Potter in 1967.

Cheers Phil - you would be agreeing with me then and not Ben as I think it's probably modern. Only 14 inches high mind you so technically a shelf or floor vase.
