He did Mostly Stoneware and the book has him potting in the Edinburgh , Fife area , yours is from the 1970's .

Hi folks, picked up this nice modern looking piece in a job lot yesterday along with a nice Mike Dodds yunomi, quite large measuring 30cm x 25cm x 17cm. Signed DH and 95 to the base, finding a lot of DH marks online but none matching this, wondering if anyone has any ideas.

I’m pretty sure it’s David Heminsley. Usually it’s a stamp where as this looks handwritten, but the style is very similar

Thanks Naomi, it could well be his, I've found some listings where the mark is referred to as incised but as yet no photos. He was based fairly local to where I bought it.

I’ve just bought this bowl in a mixed lot at auction and nothing about it, any help to identify the makers mark or signature would be very gratefully received. Diameter is 28cm and height 15cm.

Also, are the crack marks on the base normal production marks. The crack isn’t raised or indented.

The star crack on the base would have happened during firing or cooling after firing and is a minor fault that would detract from its desirability.

Thank you for your reply, when I looked closely the crack is also on the inside, however still holds water. Any idea of value, my hubby is not a fan

Perfect items are selling for £10-£20 on eBay. There are a lot listed at way higher prices than that but are not selling. But with the crack it’s pretty worthless
