mine has a very large signature on the back Pip,I have been looking on the net this morning & can find nothing about J H Matthews...the signature was done with a marker pen so it may be a previous owner rather than the artist but I doubt it

OK so here are the two plaques ...

there seems to be a Clappison influence but they were made in the 80's

I think that's wise,my plaque is carved a bit better than yours,Paul may have a point

I know own the girl plaque too & can confirm they were both made by the same ceramic artist J H Matthews
