Re: Squirrel five prong crown over s mark
Capo is normally N under the crown sitzendorf has S but a diffrent crown and 2 lines thro the S
Ive just found china chat website
https://www.figurines-sculpture.com/porcelain-mark-query-crown-over-s.html#google_vignette
After wadding through the chat lines it appears to be S for SAXONY
Now after that the trail goes cold as to who Saxony is
I will look further

Re: Squirrel five prong crown over s mark
Think it's the same manufacturer as this one:

Re: Squirrel five prong crown over s mark
Everything about the stoat ties in with the Squirrel
Two guys on the china chat web site independantly had bought figurines with this mark with an attached label saying Saxony on one side and quality assured on the other
There must have been other smaller potteries in Saxony than dresdan and meisen
Does this thread need to be tied in with the stoat thread ??

Re: Squirrel five prong crown over s mark
As long as they are cross referenced we'll wait for a proper ID.
Re: Squirrel five prong crown over s mark
Thinking german the yellowish blob upper left actually (under high magnification ) says 930pf, its price
So looking at the age
Germany went euro 1st jan 1999
unfortunatly the pfennig was in ciculation probably before 1948 so all you can say about the age is 24 years old
Althogh the glaze appearance reminds me of the 60's sylvac animals

Re: Squirrel five prong crown over s mark
it seems that your figurine is similar to this one which fortunately still has the label attached.

Re: Squirrel five prong crown over s mark
I came to the conclusion after some research at the time that my stoat was German in origin. I will try and find time at the weekend to do some more research, there may be more or different info out there since I last searched.

Re: Squirrel five prong crown over s mark
that's rather funny , look what i've found on sales https://www.ebay.com/itm/254168361142
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/264894721677
https://www.ebay.com/itm/275096873826
i think this is a Russia based factory where "german like" items are produced for souvenir purposes

Re: Squirrel five prong crown over s mark
It appears the location of the pottery is a mystry
It could well be a russian inspired pottery as saxony was a subdivision of russia after the war until 1949 (but dont quote me on that date)
A couple of independant people on china chat have said they have owned pieces with the crown and s for 40/50 years ? One even said it had GDR onit (but no proof )
