Margaret Hine (1927–1987) was a British studio potter, who was known in the 1950s for her animal figures but also produced painted dishes and ceramic murals.

She initially studied ceramics at the Derby School of Art. From there she went to the Central School of Arts and Crafts, where she studied pottery under Dora Billington, and the Institute of Education, where she studied under William R. Newland. From 1949 to 1954 she had a studio in Bayswater, London, with Newland and Nicolas Vergette, with the three of them becoming known as the "Picassoettes".

She married Newland in 1950 and they had two children, and in 1954 they set up a studio in Prestwood, Buckinghamshire.

I have been wanting to buy this glazed stoneware pigeon by Margaret Hine for over 20 years and the opportunity arose last month and so it has "come home to roost".

I know that I am associated with brown pots but I have had a fascination with the work of Newland, Vergette and Hine for many a long year.
