Kennin Kishimoto
Kishimoto san was born in Nagoya City in Aichi prefecture, Japan in 1934.
Originally working in the Oribe and Shino ceramic traditions of Mino yaki (Mino pottery), he has transformed these aesthetics into his own form of Iga ware. This type of pottery (seen below) has brought him the greatest acclaim in Japan, Europe and the USA.
From the mid 1990s Kishimoto also worked in crackle glazed celadon too.
