I don't know if "raku" would describe the style of pottery of your bowl, but if it does say stavros on the base, could it be this pottery on page 3 of this pdf i found?

The Cypriot Stavros favours Raku so is may not be his work,plus anyone bringing a pot back from Cyprus would probably pick one that weighed less

MMmm........not so sure Dan, raku is only one way and as for bringing a bowl back that size ,well that's not impossible vans , cars, etrc. plenty big foreign pots in this country ,not all exported .

The reason I described it as weird, is because of the different styles used on this one piece , all I really know is that it's studio and I would be amazed if it originated in this country .
