Help please

Good evening,

I came across this piece a few days ago. now its not my normal go to but there is something about it.

It is a pot and lid, the potter appears to have made a ostrich egg sized orb and then has sliced the lid off using angular cuts, the lid can only go back on the same way. The lid has a beige matt finish with what appears to be a man/person in black. The bottom of the pot has a weird sandy feel to it (it reminds me of some of the German lava glaze) No signature. It is probably a tourist piece as its very native looking.

Anyway its a bit quirky like me

Any help would be appreciated.

I suspect it's from one on the Mediterranean islands. It looks moulded, sprayed with clay and low fired
