The vase from Atlantis Empty The vase from Atlantis

My vivid imagination makes me see this unusual piece as some recovered under the sea antiquity from a lost civilization...maybe reaching a bit here.

I'd be interested to know about the glaze and how it's got holes in it I don't hold out for a maker. South American ?
