Actually quite a rare find nowadays. May not be worth much giving changing pottery fashions. But as a piece of pottery history it is very interesting.

Thanks Philpot,
The Claverdon/Upchurch establishments look to have very interesting histories and I look forward to reading up.
I think I'm slightly doubtful about this Jug.
A) not having seen anything similar produced by them as yet.. (according to a quick google images search anyway)

And B) also the signature on this Jug seems to read neither Upchurch or Claverdon...
Claverchurch maybe lol.

What do you think?

It's nothing like the pottery made by Upchurch with the Claverdon imprint but I don't know what the incised mark is.
