Originally J Uffrecht used both red and white clay (the white clay sourced from central Germany). When Carstens bought the factory and it became Carstens Uffrecht, they continued to use both types - after the war VEB Haldensleben* lost the ability to buy the white clay of the quality they wanted and so switched production entirely to the red.
*Just before the Second World War the Carstens Uffrecht factory was taken over by the DDR state and renamed VEB Haldesleben.

Set of 4 stylish, but unknown cups/mugs - Deco-ish?
I bought this set of mugs/cups because of the great looking colours and design of handles etc. Would love to get some idea of origin.

Yes, Carstens - Uffrecht, Fayence dept. (factory Hubbe),
decor Marokko (Maroc), ca.1932/34, shape similiar to
tea service "Wien".
