The motifs are Asian, maybe Chinese, but copied by European factories

A very fine pair with lovely decoration. A salt and pepper? seems only very british.
I would guess Staffordshire, maybe 1875-1900. As you said just a tiny hint of
art nouveau around the bottom rim. as Naomi says, heavily influenced
with far-eastern motifs like the sunflower or Crysanthemum on the top.

Canton medallion ware uses the same motifs but they are too well done which makes me think they’re European
