Pair of Polka Dot Earthenware Mugs - Different Marks? Empty Pair of Polka Dot Earthenware Mugs - Different Marks?

I have this pair of Polka Dot Earthenware mugs, they both have an impressed mark but they don't seem to be exactly the same.

The have the same mark but one is partially covered in glaze. Looks like a back to front F or E
