STUDIO POTTERY VASE CELADON & GOLD GLAZE IMPRESSED SINGLE LETTER m MARK

This is a small vase in a green celadon glaze with an impressed letter 'm' - does anyone know this mark please?

Looks like Mary O'Regan mark, County Cork, Ireland.

Hi - Thank you for your suggestion. I have had a quick look and am not sure as she normally does functional pieces like cups and saucers etc and the one mark I saw was in a circle whereas this is just an 'm' impressed into the base.

Naomi at Admin runs BISPM site  and will no doubt confirm.

I can see why you would be doubtful. The font is close but not an exact match, and most of her pots are stamped MOR. Looking at her Instagram page, Mary has been potting for around 7 years and I'm not seeing a similar pot amongst her photos

Peter O'Malley had a similar M mark. Unfortunately he's now deceased. I don't know if this is his style of pot http://bispm.co.uk/bio.php?id=2094

Hi - This does look very similar to the mark on my pot so it is possible it could be Peter O Malley - I will try and see if I can check further - thank you

Hi - I contacted a gallery who specialised in pots by Peter O Malley who contacted someone in the know who replied as follows

"We forwarded your email to Fred Branham, of Kersey Pottery and he replied:

It is not a Peter pot. There was a fad for tarting up plain pots with a bit of gold for commercial reasons (miaow!) and Peter didn’t stoop. Glynn Hugo did it back in the seventies but didn’t mark with an M. So we don’t have answers for your enquirer."

So the potter still remains unknown!
