Re: David Abbey
I think it's very possible, based on his entry in the Marks book, but I don't have any verified examples of his work

Re: David Abbey
Yes, I've struggled to find anything by him to compare, so I'll most likely send him a message and hope for a response. If I do I'll update this.
He's (if it is one of his) a fine potter. This is a substantial piece and done really well. The glaze sits beautifully near the bottom.
When I saw it I initially thought it was by my old favourite David Lloyd Jones and got a bit giddy with excitement.
Thanks for the feedback Naomiwithout your tireless input this forum would gather dust. Hopefully you will never leave this site.

Dave Abbey Pot
I would say this is a Dave Abbey piece. I have two pieces of his pottery and the glazing and style and colour are very similar.

Re: David Abbey
I don't have a verified example. The examples on BISPM matched the description in the Marks book, and the examples on the David Abbey thread which we've grouped together under his name until someone tells us differently

Re: David Abbey
Or maybe Duncan Ayscough? Mark is similar to the one on my bowl posted under "Ayscough".

According to the Marks book Ayscough didn't make standard ware stoneware. Your dish on the Ayscough thread is stoneware and has the same font as these 'David Abbey' ones, but a different font to Duncan Ayscough so I should probably move it unless you know the provenance

Re: David Abbey
On this pot the D & A is different type font: Ayscough marks, the top and bottom back of the D has a barb protruding at the top and bottom as with the A has two cross bars at the bottom. I know some potters do change their marks overtime.

David Abbey
Further threads suggest this bowl is more likely to be by David Abbey. Could someone update and move it for me if they agree...?

Hi all! Posted this on Mark Nuttall FB page and he's certain it's by Dan Arbeid, any thoughts?NaomiM wrote:I don't have a verified example. Re: David Abbey
I know Mark Nuttall. IDing is not his forte.
Obviously not Dan Arbeid’s mark
