Hi everyone.
Picked up this nice slab vase at an antique shop yesterday. Can anyone help identify it please?

Thanks.

It looks like a seven with a line through it. European perhaps? It also looks like someone has possibly tried to write a copywright symbol with the two C's. A student piece? Personally I would not have bought it with a chip in it, Unless it was dirt cheap!

Looks like a CC monogram and 1971 date. Looks British but the 7 is written in the European manner. Bill Connor potting at Cerne Abbas had a similar mark

Many thanks for your replies. Yes, it was dirt cheap, and the chip doesn`t detract from the "ruggedness" of the piece too much.

If you are attracted to the style itself then there are a group of potters who specialised in this type of work. Alan Wallwork especially as this is exactly his type of work. He had a whole 'small pocket industry making them.

Also worth looking at Bernard Rooke'

Louis Hudson.
