Re: HJWB and knot mark by H.J. WOOD, Burslem - pattern, painter or age?
H.J. WOOD, Burslem. This mark was used from 1884, but with England added, is
probably after 1891. possibly up to the 1920s.
NE119, could be a the shape or a pattern code.
474 is likely to be the pattern code, the other marks being the decorator's marks.

Thanks DD for your post. Still having no luck IDing the pattern name and the painters identity but will continue to delve…
Thanks again

Hi
Is this possibly a variation of the “Indian Tree” pattern?
Any thoughts gratefully received

I think the flower is a Wild Rose or Briar Rose.
Like a lot of pottery from this period, it probably never had a "name" as such.
If I remember correctly, all HJ woods records were destroyed in a fire so there is
not much info to go on.

Thanks DD. Had no idea about the loss of records which might be partly the reason why there appears to be so little info around - along with my own limited knowledge in this area!
Kindest and thanks again
