YUNOMI style pottery vase impressed mark with an X Empty YUNOMI style pottery vase impressed mark with an X

This is a Yunomi style pottery vase with an impressed mark which is under the glaze so hard to read so not sure if anyone can help as its so feint.  I can just make out the letter X and then another mark above it - any ideas please?

I think it could be a Japanese kanji stamp, possibly from Mashiko although the flared neck is not a traditional shape
