Fascinating piece. Looks perfect Celtic design. That is obviously a bought in blank. I wonder what maker they got that from?

Celtic Pottery 100%, no doubts.
I think (from the tile marks) that it's from 1971.
They did many of their designs on tiles, including Medallion.
I've got 1 of these Medallion tiles myself.
My one has a date of 9/24/79 which I guess is 24th Sept. 1979 (Maggi was Canadian, so maybe like the Americans, they write dates differently to us.
The tile has a 77 on the lower side. So my guess is that the tile was produced in 1977 and used by Maggi in Sept. 1979 - but that's a guess.
I've also a Lion and a cockerel tile both of which has 19 at the top and 73 at the bottom (made in England, in the middle)
So my guess is that this tile company dated their tiles in this way - maybe the dots by the year, indicate a month of production??
There were also a couple of other Medallion design tiles in auction recently

But I've no idea who made the tiles.

Thank you Celtic, I’ve just never seen any Celtic tiles before. Your medallion one looks v similar to my one. And others in auction look great. I wonder what that lot went for. Cheers

After posting this, I was looking through the Celtic Pottery thread and realised there are actually several of these Medallion tiles already posted - including mine.
