Its that time of year again. Another gigantic Adam Partridge Studio Pottery Sale. A lot of Jim Malone (again!) and a lot of Items from Robin Welch's estate. Plus the vast smorgasbord of Studio pottery from Lots and lots of potters. The perfect collector's sale. With lot of low estimates.

!!! What an incredible sale - so many lovely pots. Slightly sad to see such low estimates on so many beautiful things though

That tends to be Partridges style. Low estimates to encourage the bidders. For the less popular potters you can get some real bargains. But most of it goes quite a bit higher.
Cynically speaking of course, It helps on their Insurance costs.

A fairly pedestrian sale. Most sold at the bottom end of what were already low estimates. I bet a lot more than usual went to the trade. To appear on the now 'Free' Ebay at the usual hefty mark ups. Not many stars in this sale. Definitely underwhelming. Indeed, one does wonder if Adam Partridge's old style...Pile 'em high and sell 'em cheap' is working very well. Certainly, if I had high value items, I might well be looking somewhere else to sell them!

Hi Philpot, It's an all time low in prices for many potters but if there are collectors that are interested in what's on offer at the moment it must be a good time to buy. I think that there are far too many new potters entering the market through these so called 'Potfests' at the moment and this in turn is affecting the lower end of the auction market significantly.
