Wooley and Wallis Salisbury traditional Xmas Art Pottery sale. A couple of nice Martin Brothers ans some De Morgan. The studio pottery is dominated by the Richard Batterham estate sale items once more. They have been selling the Batterham estate for years now! A very nice and unusual black John Ward. With the other usual good selection across the board.

Hi philpot, You would think everybody would have had collected enough Batterham by now, then along comes another van load. The John Ward is a bit special and while i am interested i think it might need just a little more outlay than i could justify, the estimate for this piece is unrealistic. The most unusual lot is 291 the James Tower biscuit fired only piece, what will this fetch i wonder?.

I would have thought the James Tower piece is more for the completist. With firing cracks at the top and Biscuit fired it would be classified as a second. Also made in the year he died.
