Claire Wright / Claire Morris-Wright - artist and potter
I love this very large pot (385mm tall), entitled "Mull Landscape Vase". I bought it in the council art gallery on Granby St in Leicester in 1990 or 1991. At the time, the council had an excellent interest-free loan scheme to encourage people to buy art, and so I bought this for £90. I think the loan was interest free for 18 months, which was good, because I couldn't have bought the pot otherwise.
Despite being a long way from Mull, in the middle of the English Midlands, by amazing coincidence, Claire had stayed at our neighbour's house on Mull, and the pot was inspired by a landscape very familiar to me. She'd also met my mum, and seen her pottery, but I didn't know this when I bought the pot.
Claire made fabulous pots in the late 1980s and early 1990s, as well as making prints. She still lives in the East Midlands, but has not made pots recently. More here: https://clairemorris-wright.com/

Thanks for that. A nice piece. It does seem from her website that Printing in all its forms has been her main artistic bent for some time.
