Re: Dorothy Annan
Certainly nothing ghastly about it. Its very well potted. However, it does have that certain 'look' of a good deal of well-potted stuff that came out of the 70's boom in studio pottery.

Re: Dorothy Annan
By Wilfrid Norton. Not much biographical info around. This was from Marshall Coleman’s blog:
Wilfrid Norton, a figurative ceramist inspired by Anthroposophy, who was well-known in the 1930s and ran the pottery department at Camberwell school of art, but who is now forgotten.

I wish it was by Wilfred Norton but I'm pretty sure that's not the mark N..

Re: Dorothy Annan
It's also not the quality of his work either - Think he's probably turning in his grave right now...

Re: Dorothy Annan
I will have to check my notes but there was a similar, pierced vase on eBay a few months ago, unattributed, and with a similar bow type mark, which I got very excited about, thinking it was by George Jouve but the mark was far closer to that of Wilfrid Norton

Re: Dorothy Annan
You identified one of my first pots as a Wilfred Norton quite a way back N. that oozed quality and marks are more angulated not round and they're joined, this one, its, well its a bit lame and mark is too rounded

Pretty Ghastly Bottle, ADP / AD / AP mark? - Wilfrid Norton?
I believe it's by Dorothy Annan. There's a piece of hers in the latest Adam Partridge auction with correspondence between her and Godden about her mark

I can't seem to find much about Dorothy Annan's pottery except for her ceramic wall art in the Barbican.

Dorothy Annan
I'm trying to find out more on Dorothy Annan's studio pottery. Internet searches have come up with mostly info about her ceramic murals in the Barbican but little, to nothing, on her pottery pieces. I am fortunate to own one of her pieces, pictured below but have no idea of whether it is rare or one of many?
THANKS
