No, shame that!!!!! Just a pencil mark that looks like Di. Looking at the base it looks like it was hand thrown.

Do you think that's the original shade? The lampbase looks more like Scandi design to me ....

The type of wiring wouldn't be a reliable indicator of country of production - many items could have been rewired or produced specifically for export.
Looking at the shape of the base, the glaze colour and the type of pottery my gut instinct says Swedish - it has shades of Upsala Ekeby about it - but this is just speculative of course.

Pip, after looking through all the Upsala Ekaby I could find ont tinternet I can see what your saying. But I am quite sure it is British, I was hoping that the shade was original but you do have me questioning that now.......... Guy
