thats great, you need to press it and the flower image will appear on the camera screen, this is a feature intended for close up pics such a pottery id's Excellent

Yes Dan's right - the little flower is the macro setting for taking closeups. However, be aware that you shouldn't use the zoom whilst in the macro setting, it won't focus at all - just move closer to the object you're shooting :-)

It's a nice pot by the way.

& press the shutter button in a little to activate auto focus then in fully to take the pic
