Poole Pottery 1980 to present day

I'm not into Poole, but even I thought that seemed suspicious (on "the bay"), either that or a very rare piece

The ironic thing is if they had listed it as Jude Jelfs they would have got a lot more for it than the 'no-sale' they will get as a fake bit of Poole.

This bit of my cabinet doesn't fit into the forum categories very well but the new pieces are mainly modern so here it is



Top shelf far left is a post-Poole Guy Sydenham Bellarmine flask. Got this one relatively cheaply as it has a bad firing crack but displays well and I have always liked these.
Plate centre back with a bee on it is my own work (!), to a Nikki Masserella design, from this years Collectors Club gala day. The vase mainly obscured to the right of it is this years Collectors Club vase by Nikki.
The candlestick vase directly in front is a Jane Brewer studio vase showing Portland lighthouse. It pairs with the larger JB Corfe Castle vase to the right I got last year. Sadly, Jane told me she doesn't really like working in Living Glaze at she prefers more detailed designs. I like them - the use of local features for inspiration is one thing that has always set Poole apart for me (like the 1950's Poole Harbour and map plates below).

could you help pls with the name of this Living Glaze pattern. Its driving me mad not to remember which one it is.. :(

I love this Egyptian Tutankhamen design that Nikki Masserella first used in 2000. I interviewed Nikki for the Collectors Club magazine a few years back and I wondered if she had any particular connection with Egypt. She said the inspiration came from a book someone had brought in! She credited Tony Morris with the idea of offsetting the face, and indeed with being a great mentor in general.

This one is a later version from c. 2010 produced in the current studio on the Quay, hand thrown by Alan White and painted by Nikki.

This poor Poole vase failed to sell at our charity shop so I brought it home before it could be thrown in the skip.

The mark is too faint under the blue to photograph, but from http://www.poolepottery.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Poole_Pottery_Factory_Marks.htm it's "Factory mark no.62 in use between 1970-99 "

That's the Corinthian range from 1987.

Poole used a lot of external designers during the 1980's and this one was by the Queensberry Hunt Partnership, who also designed some tableware and other decorative ranges.

I think their designs did OK at the time but are not really collectable now, which is why I suppose it got stuck in the charity shop. Nice colour though.

I recently bought a modern Poole clock but don't know the name of this design?

Hmm, not one I could immediately name but I think it is probably "Lava" from c. 2005.

Hello, this is my first post on here and it looks like a good site. Hoping to get to know more about 20th Century Poole Pottery, of which I have a small collection.

Would anyone be kind enough to identify these painters' marks for me, with their dates? The pots are predominantly blue, yellow and orange, with other colours. The vase measures about 10" in height and just over 5" diameter at the rim. The bowl is 10.5" in diameter. I have photographed both.

Both are the Matisse design by Anita Harris which was introduced in 2000.
I don't recognise the paintress mark on the vase but the one on the bowl looks like Dawn Polden who joined Poole pottery in 1999
