Re: Jersey Pottery (Channel Islands)
Over the years, Jersey seems to have tried an enormous range of styles.

Re: Jersey Pottery (Channel Islands)
I think it’s from the Sicily-Italy area, eg Santo Stefano di Camastra

Poole inspired trivet, made by Jersey Pottery?
Hi all,
I have a bit of riddle in my hands, found this really lovely and obviously Delphis inspired trivet that at some stage had a round sticker attached to the back. Poole really didn't make trivets even if they did use a round sticker on some utilitarian ceramic sometimes. But this based on the teak surround and the overall proportions seems to be a piece by Jersey Pottery just looking a little bit atypical of their output but they made a lot of ceramic trivets over the years. Just wanted to confirm my conclusion with other forum members that it is Delphis inspired but really not by Poole.
It measures 7.25 inches across

Re: Jersey Pottery (Channel Islands)
Is anyone familiar with the Jersey Pottery ones? They seem to have gone a phase using a Delphis look and they used a round label on the back. Can't imagine this is the product of a craft potter, no matter how nicely made it is.
Thanks for the suggestions so far!

Re: Jersey Pottery (Channel Islands)
There’s another one on the Jersey Pottery thread and the member said they’d seen one with a Jersey label on it. Certainly the oak frame is likely to be British rather than Sicilian/Italian

Re: Jersey Pottery (Channel Islands)
I think the decorators were allowed to use their imagination; there weren’t set pattern names

Re: Jersey Pottery (Channel Islands)
It appears to be initialled VU or YU by the decorator. The pottery was set up by Charles and Edward Potter and they employed decorators. There may be a Jersey Pottery Collectors Group who would know their names but I haven't seen a list. I think the decorators had a free hand on what they painted on the pots, although ultimately the design would be approved by Charles and Edward.

Jersey Pottery is now defunct
Thought I'll add that Jersey Pottery was one of the victims of the pandemic and closed down in 2020. Checked companies house and is now listed as a dormant entity which is sad after all the decades they were producing ceramics. Their restaurant business on the island seem unaffected.
