Will there be a link with images once the exhibition is open?

Re: Alan Wallwork
I will take some photos once its all set up on Feb. 1st/2nd and I'll post them here.
The museum doesn't seem to have a lot of info' for most exhibitions - there will likely be just my written introduction, as the above poster.
Here's a link to the museum's English site...

There are lots of photos and a cool 'digital museum' that's accessible through the biennale exhibition, which is on the top floor, while my show will be on the lower floor...

Re: Alan Wallwork
Are they going to Matterport the exhibition ? or is this just the fixed one? That would be great if they did. it just runs off a smartphone, we use them and have a person who does ours. The gallery is really neat, I like the walls on wheels. Japan is so honourable - would a bit of red tape keep people off exhibitions in the UJK? I think not.
Re: Alan Wallwork
It's actually in Taiwan. When I went there about a month ago, I was taking a photo and inadvertently stepped over a red line. A member of staff immediately asked me to step back.
Looking through the site, it seems like it's just that show that has the digital experience.

Re: Alan Wallwork
On re-reading this Alan Wallwork thread (and what as valuable thread it is!). It made me reconsider a couple of Wallwork pieces we have had for many years, and were somewhat hidden away! This vase just has he W mark in it. But the markings made me wonder if it is a much earlier piece than I thought it was. Perhaps from the 60's? Certainly somewhat anything else on here! 19 cms high. Any opinions?

Yes, this is a 1960s piece. I have a very similar vase.

Re: Alan Wallwork
You can see mine in the middle of these. I also have a similar (shorter) one without the white.
Alan Wallwork said those notches on the corners came from seeing rope grooves in wooden posts beside a canal near his home.
Louis Hudson seems to have taken the idea with him, and passed it on to Sonia Sjoholm.

They look "Greenwich" period 1960 -1965. Alan told me that, "He and Bernard Rooke (who was renting a studio there from Alan) did similar decoration that would include the occasional letters from their respective names".

Re: Alan Wallwork
An interesting selection. I assume that you aren't finding these casually these days? That is, on your general travels to fairs/centres etc.

I have found a couple of pieces in the wild but none in this image….all found using the interweb…..I haven’t been to an antique fair in years….my iPad is my antiques fair nowadays….

Re: Alan Wallwork
More chance of finding a unicorn in the forest playing whist with Lord Lucan than finding a good Wallwork in the wild
