What I do love about so much of Alan Wallwork is the variety of their surfaces. You can stare at some of them for ages.

I often look at the surfaces with a magnifying glass and with different light sources

They can be very absorbing. They seem to have their own winter spirit!

I think this  5 inch poppy head is one of my absolute favourites. Its is quite different from most Alan Wallwork's work.

Nice bowl. What size is it? Usually these are fairly small. You also do not see many around.

It's 13cm diameter and 9.5cm high. I was finding it difficult to place a value on it, as you say, not that many around.

I think one was sold at Partridges, if you want to trawl through their past studio pottery auctions

A big earthquake struck here this morning - made me jump out of bed and try to steady the pottery. Plates are secured to the wall and all vases all have Blu-tac, but this Wallwork vase got smashed - a tall piece from '64.

Thankfully the few other pieces that got damaged were of no great value...

Thanks, Dan... I am OK and went to work as usual tonight. It's the other side of the island that got hardest hit, but every one here felt it - it was a biggie.

My wife had a go at sticking the tall Wallwork vase back together, but it looks a mess as it was in quite a few pieces and there's general damage to various parts. It's toast.

All the Poole is OK.
